Dr. Geoff Powell found his passion for chiropractic, health, and wellness long before he considered it as a profession. As a young man, he sustained a serious back injury while playing basketball and couldn’t walk or even use the bathroom without pain. The pain was excruciating, immobilizing, and constant, but the fear, stress, and depression would soon prove to be equally as debilitating. He and his family tried everything. They went the traditional route of treating all the individual symptoms, but nothing worked. It wasn’t until he saw a chiropractor that his life changed. Not only was he no longer in pain, but it was as if he was brought back to life. Geoff’s entire outlook suddenly changed. After so many hospital and clinic visits, prescriptions and misdiagnoses, he discovered how the body can heal from within through a very practical method of analysis and adjustment. It was unbelievable.
Today Dr.Powell has his degree in nutrition from the University of Florida, and Doctorate of Chiropractic from the Parker College of Chiropractic. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners with licenses in both Texas and Florida, and maintains active membership in the American Chiropractic Association, Mid-Florida Chiropractic Society and Florida Chiropractic Association, while consistently attending continuing education courses and researching the latest innovations throughout the health field.
With more than 15 years of practical experience, Dr. Powell’s mission is to inspire a health revolution by taking a “whole person approach” with his patients, listening to their needs, educating them on the Core Four, and helping them remove the interference from their body’s natural healing system.
As a child, Dr. Chris Polk suffered from chronic ear infections which hospitalized him four times before the age of two and left him constantly on antibiotics. Once he became a teenager, the chronic infections shifted to his sinuses and he accepted these as part of life. It wasn’t until his mother visited a chiropractor for her seized neck that her primary doctor and physical therapists could not fix, that he was introduced to chiropractic. After each adjustment, his condition improved. He never had another sinus infection from that day forward. It was that dramatic recovery that inspired Dr. Polk to become a chiropractor himself and commit to “paying it forward” to other families seeking the same truth his own did.
After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Biology, he went on to complete his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA in 2016. Dr. Polk and practiced his craft all over the country but has found his home in the Gainesville community and is eager to share his gifts to help families find true health and healing.
